Creating Myth Today: A Quantum Age Perspective

Myth is the validation of human experience.

It gives symbolic form to our inner life and helps us interpret the world we live in. Myth speaks through metaphor and poetry, not literal explanation, offering the inward meaning of nature and human existence.

Today, myth must be planetary. It must include nature itself as sacred, mysterious, awe-inspiring, and alive. We no longer live inside isolated cultural myths; we participate in a shared human story within an interconnected world.

Bliss as Inner Guidance

Bliss can be understood as a message of God to yourself, an inner signal pointing to where life flows through you with meaning and vitality.

As Joseph Campbell said, “Follow your bliss,” not as indulgence, but as alignment with the deeper movement of life.

Two Enduring Mythic Paradigms

Buddhism and Christianity express this alignment in different symbolic languages.

• Buddhism locates transformation within: through inner awareness, meditation, and surrender to the natural order. The gods symbolize human potential.

• Christianity finds transformation as Christ in you, discovered through love, sacrifice, and engagement with the world.

Despite their differences, both traditions share the same core insight:

transformation comes through surrender, not control.

As Christianity says, “The kingdom of heaven is within you.”

Jesus as Mythic Paradigm

Mythologically, Jesus functions as an ultimate paradigm, not of domination, but of transformation. This paradigm creates space for joy, healing, empowerment, community, and life itself. It invites participation in divine life rather than belief alone.

Myth, Community, and Identity

Biblical mythology emphasizes community, binding individuals into a shared moral and compassionate order.

Eastern traditions emphasize direct realization, alignment with the natural order beyond social identity.

Both address essential human needs: belonging and awakening.

A Third Emerging Myth: Quantum Mythology

In our time, quantum mechanics offers a new mythic lens.

• Experience arises through interaction.

• Meaning depends on attention, language, and participation.

• Observer and observed are not absolutely separate.

Quantum physics does not claim reality is created by belief alone, but it does reveal a participatory universe, where relationship is fundamental.

Mythically understood, this places responsibility on human consciousness:

words shape perception, perception shapes experience.

So the ethical teaching becomes simple:

pause, breathe, choose your words wisely.

Core Insight

Across ancient myth, religion, contemplation, and modern science, the shared message is clear:

• Reality is participatory.

• Meaning is revealed through engagement.

• Surrender, presence, and alignment open transformative power.

Myth does not explain the world.

Myth teaches us how to live in the world.
